The Faculty of Engineering was established in 1988 with three BSc programs in Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering and Civil Engineering (surveying) and 170 students. The Department of Computer Engineering and Information Technology became an independent department in 2013. There are now 6 departments, 10 PhD programs, 25 MSc programs and 11 BSC programs in the faculty. The educational facilities of the faculty include 30 educational-research laboratories, 2 educational workshops and 2 computer centers dedicated to BSc students to complete their projects and also numerous other computer centers for postgraduate students.
